Roller ski the Cambridge Busway on 14 May

Club members - join us for a roller ski tour along the Cambridge Busway next Sunday - you can find out more here.

Race entry open - 7 May 15km & 7.5km FT roller ski race

Entry is now open for our first roller ski race of the season and you'll find there's a new entry process.  Enter now.   The new process aims to improve the accuracy of registration and results - if you have any comments on the way it works, please let us know.  

Entry for our other 2017 roller ski races will open shortly.

Awesome result in Nordenskioldsloppet

Congratulations go to Club member Gerard Evans for an awesome 112th place in the 220km Nordenskioldsloppet, the world's longest and toughest classical cross country ski race that takes place in Arctic Sweden.

Book a roller ski taster session

In 2017 we're offering roller ski taster sessions which will introduce you to the sport and enable you to experience roller skiing.  The 1.5 hour sessions will take place at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit in west London on:

• 23 April, 21 May, 03 September all from 1300-1430 
• 05 November from 1000-1130

Cost: £10.00 for adults and £5.00 for juniors [under 18] including equipment hire.

The London Region Classic 1/10/16 - results & photos

Jordan Andrews and Charlie Harrigan took an early lead winning first and second places with Gergely Somogyi in third place in the senior men's race.  Beata Nowok, Holly Rees-Lay, and Amanda Richardson took the first three places in the women's race whilst Tristan Marshall, Helen Gronski and Lily Sierkowski won their respective junior categories.  See the full race report.

Well done to everyone who raced and a big thank you to all who answered our call for volunteers and came to help make the race a success.

The next LRNSC roller ski race is the 4 hour event on 29 October - ski as far as you can in four hours in any technique - enter online now.

Be a better skier - book your roller ski course now

Our next roller ski courses begin in September and there are courses for all levels - from a taster for those who've never skied before, learn to ski for beginners, level 2 fundamentals for novices and level 3 for improvers who particularly want to work on their skating.  You can book any course online now.

Roller skiing is the best preparation for cross country skiing, it gives you a great workout and helps develop those ski specific muscles that will help you make the most of your time on snow.  We're also running roller ski races during the autumn so these are an extra opportunity to feed your competitive spirit or to give yourself a challenge while you clock up the skiing miles.

Two extra events added to Club programme

To keep up the roller ski momentum through the summer join other LRNSC members for two extra events - the South Coast Roll on Sunday 21 August and roller skiing or cycling the Cambridge Busway on Sunday 11 September.  Both are great opportunities to keep up the summer training or to just enjoy a day's roller skiing [or cycling on the Busway] through the countryside.

Cross country ski trip - Cogne & Marcia Gran Paradiso - full info now available

Full details are now available of the Club's cross country skiing trip and optional racing in the Marcia Gran Paradiso are now available.  This trip to Italy for LRNSC members offers fantastic skiing and the chance to gain Euroloppet stamp.
