London Region Challenge Cup 2019 - final standings

See the final standings in the London Region Challenge Cup, our series of four matched ski races from May - November 2019.

On the basis of total points gained over the series, congratulations go to:

Seniors

• 1st male - Steve Perry [RAF], 2nd male Syzmon Orlowski [LRNSC], 3rd  Georgi Nemov [Wessex]

• 1st female - Carol James , 2nd Sara Mancell, 3rd Mindy Haumann [all Hyde Park]

Juniors

Freya Uth [Hyde Park] topped the category followed Sam Bojarski then brother Eddie [both LRNSC] and Jasmine Uth [Hyde Park].

Well done to all 99 partipicants from 9 clubs across England and Scotland, plus the RAF, who raced in the series, and thank you to the Roller Ski Co who supplied the matched skis, and everyone who supported the races in various ways.

Roller ski race results - 3 November

Many thanks to all the racers who participated in last Sunday's roller ski races - it's taking a while to manage all the data but all the results are now available on this website for The Barnaby Norman Memorial Race and our 10.5/4.5 FT matched ski race.

Congratulations go to:

The Barnaby Norman Memorial Race

Joseph Rosenfeld [Hyde Park] and Noah Barnes {LRNSC] who won the 12-19 yr old and under 12 categories.

10.5 FT race

Jordan Andrews [Hyde Park] and Rebecca Anderson [RAF] - senior over 18 male and female winners,

plus a special mention for LRNSC's Syzmon Orlowski who came 2nd in the race overall and Sam Bojarski who came 4th overall & won the Youth 14-17 category.

4.5 FT race

Colm Urquhart and Petra Saxby [Hyde Park] - male and female winners. A special mention goes to LRNSC's Noah Barnes who came 3rd overall and 1st in the Junior Youth category which was impressive given his success the earlier Barnaby Norman race.

Visit LRNSC at the Ski & Snowboard Festival 24-27 October

Come and see us on outdoor stand EX12 at the Ski & Snowboard Festival at Battersea Evolution next week.  We'll be running free tasters and promoting the Club's roller skiing and cross country skiing activities.

Changes to car parking at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit

For Club events please note that when the approach road to the Circuit is full, you must use the Minet Lodge Country Park car park.  You can see it on Google earth.  The entrance is further along Springfield Road on the right hand side at the bend in the road. 

Please ensure that you don't leave any valuables in view wherever you park.

 

The Goals car park is no longer available to circuit users.

Latest roller ski race results & Annual Dinner

New dates for roller ski tasters, courses, Cambridge busway tour + Ski & Snowboard Show

We've made more opportunities to try roller skiing and learn or improve your skiing this autumn - see our revised programme. There are roller ski taster sessions on 3 & 24 November, & 1 December - book your taster. For adults there is the choice of beginner and intermediate courses over three sessions running on the same dates as the tasters above - book your course.

You can now enter the GB Roller Ski Championships on 7 September at the Olympic Park and all the other races the Club is organising this autumn at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit from our race entry page. 

There's a race for everyone - classic and free technique, on matched skis and your own choice of skis, time trial and a variety of distances.  They're a great training opportunity if you're entering races on snow next season whether you're an experienced or first time racer.
