Announcing The Barnaby Norman Memorial Race

Barnaby Norman, on back row 2nd from left, pictured with members of BNDSThis new roller ski event for under 20 year olds is being developed in memory of a former regional BNDS skier, Barnaby Norman, who died tragically in 2018 as a result of a short illness following a chest infection at the age of 19.

It will take place on Sunday 4 November and is being organised by BNDS [British Nordic Development Squad] in conjunction with LRNSC [London Region Nordic Ski Club] and The Roller Ski Co with the support of the Norman family.  It will be open to all roller skiers under 20 years old.  Read more ...

Results of the LRNSC 1hr/30min FT race 7/7/18

Not only was the thermometer hovering around 30C but England was about to play Sweden in the World Cup, so a big round of applause to all the racers.  Congratulations go to the winners of the different classes: 

• Senior men:  Szymon Orlowski [LRNSC], Iain Ballentine [Hyde Park] & Martin Watkins [Wessex]
• Senior women: Fern Cates, Holly Rees-Lay & Nicole Lunstead [all Hyde Park]
• Masters: Martin Watkins [Wessex] & Amanda Richardson [Hyde Park]
• Junior categories:  Beth Ireland [LRNSC], Rebecca Dargie [Cairngorm] & Tristan Marshall [Hyde Park]

Club SUP session 5 August - book your place by 5 July

Stand-up paddleboarding is another sport that delivers a full body workout and complements nordic skiing.  There's a special private session for Club members in Paddington Basin that will include tuition and a guided tour of Paddington Basin, Little Venice and the Grand Union Canal.  See more details about this LRNSC event

2018 GB roller ski series - calendar and results

This year LRNSC is hosting the calendar and results for the GB roller ski series of races, as well as running three of the races :-)

Sunday 10/6 - Roller ski the Cambridge Busway with us

On Sunday 10th June a Club group will be roller skiing along the Cambridge Busway - find out more and join us on this lovely roller ski tour with a choice of distances.
