Join our community of cross country skiing enthusiasts based in and around the Capital and in the Cambridge area.  Find out about the benefits of joining LRNSC and more about this Club

Join and learn to roller ski - it's great for fitness and fun, plus it's the best way to prepare for cross country skiing.  There are sessions for children as well as tasters, courses, coaching and general training/practice sessions for adults. We also organise roller ski races. And you can cross country ski with us.  Plus you can discover cross country ski racing.

Autumn roller ski tasters and coaching - book your place now

Learn to roller ski or improve your skills ready for the next snow season.  There are tasters on 1/9 and 27/10, new beginners courses starting on 15/9 and 3/11, and coaching for improvers and intermediates in classic and skate techniques through the autumn.  There's also roller skiing for children starting 1/9.

Booking is now open and places must be booked in advance.

Race results - GB Series 12/6/3km classic matched roller ski race

You can see the results here. Congratulations go to Jordan Andrews [London Hyde Park] and Beata Nowok [Cairngorm] the male and female winners.  Well done to all racers and thanks to everyone who supported the event including the Rollerski Co who supplied the Swenor Alutechs.

The next British Series race we're holding is the 24/12/6km FT race on 21 July - you can enter here.

Enter now - GB Series classic matched roller ski race 23/6

Entry is now open for the 12/6/3km classic matched roller ski race that we're running at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on Sunday morning 23 June.  Enter here.

Everyone will race on Swenor Alutech roller skis sourced from the Rollerski Co.  For junior racers the ski hire charge is reduced by 50% as LRNSC will subsidise this cost.

26/5 2hr fun roller ski challenge and other race results

You can see the results here.  Well done to everyone who took up the challenge with longest distances being skied by Grzegorz Stasik [40.5km] and Marketa Hamilton [37.5km]. 

Meanwhile Club members travelled to the GB Series races organised by Huntly Nordic Ski Club in Scotland where Marek Pasterney came 1st in the Hill Climb Veteran class, and Adam Pinney took 3rd place in the Super Veteran class.

Our next roller ski race is the Classic 12/6/3km British Series on matched Swenor Alutechs on 23 June - enter here.

Club cross country ski trips 2024-25

Have you started to think about cross country skiing next winter?  We have!  You can see an overview of the Club's cross country ski programme and book your place on our proposed trips to Sjusjoen in Norway, Ramsau in Austria, Pontresina in Switzerland, and register your interest in a race trip to Italy and possible late season visit to Finland.

Learn to skate ski - new roller ski course starts 26/5

Book your place on our new learn to skate roller ski course starting on Sunday afternoon 26/5.  This course focuses exclusively on skating technique. 

You'll learn how to skate roller ski with an emphasis on balance and co-ordination using the different skating 'gears' - skate 1, skate 2 and skate 3 to enable you tackle ups and downs, as well as moving efficiently on the flat. We'll also cover turns and free skate.  Find out more here.

May Club walk date change

The Club walk in the Surrey hills will now take place on Sunday 19 May instead of Saturday 11 May due to M25 junction closures which may affect members' journeys.  Find out more about this event here.
