Join and learn to roller ski - it's great for fitness and fun, plus it's the best way to prepare for cross country skiing. There are sessions for children as well as tasters, courses, coaching and general training/practice sessions for adults. We also organise roller ski races. And you can cross country ski with us. Busy, busy! That was the London Snow Show at ExCel last weekend for all the Club volunteers and coaches, aided by Jordan Andrews and BNDS members. And alongside us were RAF Nordic with their SkiErgs and laser rifles to promote biathlon.
Our ace team gave out information on roller skiing and cross country skiing, while managing participants and equipment so our coaches could deliver sell-out roller ski tasters. The Club was definitely waving the flag for nordic skiing at this event!
If you want to learn to roller ski in west London there's a taster session on 27/10 and a new learn to roller ski course starts on 3/11. We also offer beginner roller ski sessions in the Cambridge area. Regular coaching for improver and intermediate skiers takes place at both venues.
We hosted the final race in the GB Series on Sunday and you can see the full results here. Congratulations go to: the top 3 racers overall, Martin Watkins [Wessex], Gerard Evans [LRNSC] and Arne Husby [who came from Oslo for the event]. Lucas Evans [LRNSC] and Michael Jarratt [BNDS] - first in the 12 and 6km distances, Dagmar Junghanns and Beatrix Evans who ensured female racers were represented andwon their respective categories. Well done to everyone who raced, with a special mention for Cesar Baena who hails from Venezuela via Stockholm, and thanks to those who supported the event. You can also see the final standings in this year's GB Series of races where it's great to find LRNSC racers in the top 3:
Paddy Field, one of our founder members and a legend in the cross country skiing world is turning 90 this month, and we send our very best wishes to him. You can read more about him in this interview with the Worldloppet organisation.
The Club's AGM takes place from 1400-1600 on Sunday 15/9 at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit

Learn to roller ski or improve your skills ready for the next snow season. There are tasters on 1/9 and 27/10, new beginners courses starting on 15/9 and 3/11, and coaching for improvers and intermediates in classic and skate techniques through the autumn. There's also roller skiing for children starting 1/9.
Booking is now open and places must be booked in advance.
