CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRIP TO DALSETER, NORWAY

SATURDAY 5 TO SATURDAY 12 MARCH 2022

About the holiday

Photo: Ian BrodieLooking for a cross country ski trip to Norway with a variety of skiing options for all levels of skier?

Then we recommend this holiday with GB Nordic 2 to Dalseter, Norway starting on 6 March [5  March is travel day] when Club members Dagmar Junghanns and Glennis Dore will be part of the excellent team of leaders. LRNSC members will get a particularly warm welcome although there is no necessity to be a Club member to go on this holiday where you book your own accommodation, transfers and skiing options directly with the providers.

You will have a choice of easier and tougher skiing options* each day:

  • Track skiing – sporty, up to 40 km on some days or leisurely with plenty of stops;
  • Off-track skiing – tours for people trying off track for the first time and more advanced reaching summits and skiing back down;
  • Dedicated instruction for beginners;
  • Coaching on improving downhill and off-track techniques including telemark;
  • Coaching in skating and getting track technique to a higher level;
  • Independent skiing in groups;
  • Optional addition of skiing hut to hut with Tom Higgs. Contact Tom to register interest and discuss options: tom@tomoutdoors.co.uk 07971 574 571;
  • Opportunities to learn about waxing, equipment, where to ski and more;
  • Evening talks, slide shows and maybe a ceilidh!

*There is a charge for GB Nordic 2 led options and leaders will do their best to offer the whole range of activities, but logistics like injury, illness, weather and other factors may from time to time cause some limitations.  Options are also understandably limited by the ability level of individuals. For example, tough off-track days ascending and descending isolated peaks require high standards of off-track technique combined with good fitness.

Covid-19 rules

The holiday will be run in accordance with English and Norwegian regulations and guidance in force at the time and we recommend that you familiarise yourself with these.  You are responsible for your own requirements for entering Norway.

See the hotel's policy.

Insurance
Everyone on the holiday should have their own travel health insurance policy that covers the Covid-19 situation. Recent quotes which include Covid-19 cover, existing medical conditions and discount for cross country skiers have been very reasonable from this broker.
