Club Spring Walk in the Chilterns - Saturday 26th April

If you fancy seeing that “Spring has Sprung”, admiring fresh green leaves in ancient woodlands and hopefully bluebells, join us for a Club walk in the Chilterns near Amersham. The walk is 10 miles, with the option of a shorter 6 mile route.

You should be a current LRNSC member to join this walk - you can join here.

We will walk through Penn and Common Woods, once part of a much larger common land called Wycombe Heath.
Paths take us under beech woods and across rolling hills in the scenic Chiltern countryside. The route is easy walking, with a few uphill sections,  maximum ascent 250m on the longer route. The paths can get muddy after wet weather, so walking boots strongly advised.

Bring a packed lunch, at some point hopefully we can stop off for a drink on the way round at one of the two pubs in Penn. An attractive village which in the 14th century was one of England's leading floor tile producers. Tiles from Penn were used in Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, Houses of Parliament and numerous churches.
