Ever fancied racing across the Artic?  The Club has been in invited to an introduction day about the 2010 Polar Challenge which will take place in London on the 1st March 2009.

The Polar Challenge is a 350 mile race across the Arctic to the Magnetic North Pole which has been dubbed 'The World's Toughest Race'. Racing in teams of 3 in the most beautiful scenery imaginable, the competitors pull their own survival kit behind them in sleds (Pulks), and camp on the frozen ocean experiencing temperatures of -30C. Polar bears roam freely and there is a chance they may see these rare animals in their natural habitat.

Polar Challenge provides the complete framework to complete this challenge as all specialist arctic equipment and clothing, flights and full support are provided, and all teams receive a week long cold weather and ski training package in Norway in addition to expert in-country training by some of the worlds most accomplished arctic professionals.

Please contact Chris Richards, our Racing Member, who will co-ordinate attendance.  You can find out more about Polar Challenge on their website.
