Race Series 2008

Here are the details for London Race Series 2008.

The races coincide with the popular one-day coaching courses (apart from race No 3) and course participants are encouraged to race as well.
The series features a variety of formats, techniques and distances to provide a challenge for skiers of every level.
For new recruits to rollerskiing there is a short distance option.
There is a cumulative points system, with an overall series winner in each category.

Rules
Unless stated otherwise, all FIS conforming roller skis are accepted, ie fast skis may be used
Helmets and eye protection (e.g. sun glasses) must be worn.

All events held at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit, Springfield Road, Hayes UB4 OLP

Entry fee on the day is Â£10, Â£6 in advance. Cheques to LRNSC

Pre Xmas Richmond Park Roller ski tour 4pm 1/12/07

The Club's annual 7.5 mile mince pie & mulled wine roller ski tour of Richmond Park. Wear head torch/cycle lights &/or reflective/light clothing. Meeting place: Sheen Gate NB You do need to be a member for this event for insurance purposes - please download & return the form from the Join section of the web site.

LRNSC Annual Dinner Chez Gerard 7pm 7/12/07

Ditch the rollerskis for a night, glam up & meet other Club members at this annual social & fun event. To book your place contact Gerard Evans via the Contact Us section on the home page.

Ski trip to Livigno 9-17/12/07

The first of the Club's ski trips, we will go to the snow-sure resort of Livigno, Italy where there is the opportunity to participate in the La Sgambeda ski marathon, a free technique race over 42 and 21km at the end of the week.

Club ski trip to Japan 6-18/02/08

Club trip to Sapporo International Ski Marathon and Miyasama Ski Marathon on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido.

Ski tour in Rondane 9-16/03/08

Club touring holiday in Norway organised through XCuk.

Club ski holiday to Finland 16-23/03/08

Based in Akaslompolo in Finnish Lapland, this recreational trip is suitable for skiers of all levels of ability. There are over 330 km of beautiful trails that wind through quiet forests and across frozen lakes in this skiers' paradise.
Participants book their holiday package via Inghams or Crystal and meet up with other Club skiers for daily ski tours.

8th July - Informal Meet to Train for One Hour Race

There will be an informal meet for those wanting to train for the one hour race. This will be at the Hayes cycle circuit from 3pm onwards.

22nd July - LRNSC One Hour Event

This event is part of the British Race Series and no 3 in the LRNSC race series. Takes place at 2pm at the Hayes cycle circuit. Download more details here: One Hour Event Info, Entry form, Last years race results.

4th - 5th August - Training Weekend

A training weekend organised by Snow Sport England. This will be followed by a British Series rollerski race. Location is the Hayes Cycle Circuit. More details can be downloaded here: Course and Race details, including an entry form.

25th - 27th August - Holland Rollerski Tour

Rollerski tour to Holland. If you don't want to rollerski there is a group of cyclists as well. Previous trips have been much enjoyed.

2nd September - Informal Rollerski

An informal rollerski in Richmond Park. Meet at the Sheen gate 7pm prompt.

9th September - Wessex Bike Ride

50 mile bike ride through the Wessex countryside. Meet at the Guildhall, Salisbury.

15/16th September - Walking Weekend

Walking weekend at Burton Bradstock, Dorset.

14 October - LRNSC Race

20 October - LRNSC 4 Hour Event

The annual 4 hour event where club members try to ski as many laps as they can. This is not a race and you can ski for the whole 4 hours or just do a single lap. All members of all abilities are encouraged to participate and each year we try to beat our cumulative total. So even if you only do one lap it counts towards the total. After the event there is food and prize giving. Everybody receives a prize, drawn by lottery. This is as much fun as the event!!
